My original bio reads, “Rob Appell combines his love of the ocean with textiles to make fantastic appliqué quilts.” Well, here I am, almost 20 years later, even deeper in love with the ocean, and certainly head over heels about appliqué quilts! This quilt is dedicated to my pursuit of beautiful nature quilts that also help us improve our quilting skills. Come dive into the reef with me and play with fun fabric choices to create coral textures that accent the power and speed of the Black Tip Reef Shark. But have no fear, as real as this reef looks, it’s safe to swim here! —Rob
